Working with Volunteers

Volunteer work is indispensable in nature conservation and thus for ranger work. But balancing the challenges and opportunities in such a way that the end result is a clear benefit for all sides requires structure and experience.

We would like to show why it is worth investing in volunteer work, encourage best practice and provide tips on how to deal with challenges like setting up a volunteer program. You would like to exchange? Write to projects@europeanrangers.org!

With our photo contest “Volunteering is in my Nature", we would like to honour the unpaid contribution of volunteers in nature conservation. Volunteers from all ERF regions were invited to send us their best photo of their work and their story. See for yourself the diversity of volunteer work in nature conservation.
