We have sadly lost a number of colleagues over the past months…….
- In September Georgia Agency for Protected Areas lost a well respected ranger when Ivane Kupradze of Borjomi-Kharagauli NP was killed by a falling limb during a forest fire.
- In December Albanian Forest Ranger Ardi Bodurri (36) was tragically killed by a colleague whose firearm accidentally discharged.
- In January the Slovak volunteer ranger Martin Skorvanek lost his life in an avalanche whilst on a skiing holiday in Switzerland.
- Also in January the Czech volunteer ranger Milan Vašíček died from a brain haemorrhage whilst on patrol in PLA České středohoří.
We acknowledge and mourn the loss of these fellow European rangers.
