The European Ranger Federation would like to announce details for the 5th European Ranger Congress which will be held from 11th to 16th May 2020 in the Bavarian Forest National Park.
The main congress title is “Biodiversity on the Edge – working strategies for Rangers in a rapidly changing World”
We will be focusing on some of the most relevant topics of today such as climate change, mass tourism, the extinction of species, the return and management of large carnivores and how to best engage young people in nature conservation.
We plan to offer delegates ways of how to face these challenges in the day-to-day work of Rangers by presenting examples of best-practice, linking together and networking of Rangers across Europe and by solution-oriented workshops.
Of course there will also be special meetings and workshops of representatives of the European Twinning partners; the delegates of the YOUTH+ and Junior Ranger programs together with a meeting of the national representatives of our IRF/ERF member associations.
Another important element on 14th May 2020 will be the 2nd European Congress Membership Meeting (ECMM) which will include elections for the new ERF Board who will represent us for the next 3 years.
During the congress we will be holding the popular ranger raffle and will be asking delegates to bring donations for that.
Before and after the congress we will be offering the possibility to take part in a work-shadowing program as well as to join post-congress-tours.
More details will become available on the ERC 2020 website which we plan to launch at the end of November.
So – please save the date 11th – 16th May 2020 for our 5th ERC
