We have started the new year with the will and hope to make the rangers’ voices heard more strongly in global nature conservation policy. In this newsletter, you can read how each individual ranger can contribute to this and that what rangers have to say is definitely of interest to decision-makers.

We also take a look at Moldova, where the profession of ranger has not even been recognised yet. As it is urgently needed in the face of poaching and the need to involve the local population in nature conservation, an NGO and a volunteer organisation are working to develop the profession. And: after the children in Ukraine, the Christmas and New Year letters from ranger children from all over Europe have finally reached the children of rangers in Israel. A small ray of hope for the children of Ohad Yahalomi, whose fate has remained cruelly uncertain since his abduction on 7 October.
