On 2nd-4th April 2019, the Ranger Association of Ireland (RAI) held their first AGM and Ranger Congress since re-forming in 2017.
Lorcan Scott the Chairman of RAI welcomed approx. 25 members to Clare’s Rock Castle in Carron, County Clare located in the Burren National Park. Visits were made to local nature reserves and presentations made on the Burren’s wildlife; landscape and natural heritage. The local Junior Ranger programme and “BurrenBeo”agri-environmental project were also explained.
Presentations were given by guests from the Countryside Management Association (England/Wales and Northern Ireland); the IRF/European Ranger Federation and the Mourne Heritage Trust.
During the AGM of the RAI a new committee was appointed as follows:

  • Chair – Áine Lynch
  • Vice-Chair – Danny O’Keeffe
  • Secretary – Ian Edwards
  • Treasurer – Elaine Keegan
  • Events / Membership Officer – Ann Bingham
