‘I remember being a young, impoverished Countryside Ranger in Scotland, who would have loved the opportunity to meet with Rangers from all over the world, sharing perspectives and experiences on conservation, access, interpretation.’ This is what Lynnette Borradaile wrote to us while donating for rangers to join the 6th European Ranger Congress.

All the money she had transferred to us as part of our call to order ranger coins for the 6th ERC, starting less than two weeks from now in Romania, should be used for this sake: Instead of a coin, the retired Scottish ranger wished to cover the travel expenses or similar for a fellow ranger to join the congress.

ERC: gaining different insight and seeds for possible conservation solutions

‘I could have just supported ERF by buying a coin, but why not be generous and help someone at the start of their careers, or a Ranger weighed down by the challenges of their job to get different insights and seeds for possible solutions, enjoy the time and place … so I did a little’, she continues.

As this is precisely the aim of our European Ranger Congresses, we are delighted to have been able to use Lynnette’s generous donation to allow a ranger with no other means to travel to the congress.

We are really confident: the exchange on the theme of the 6th ERC, ‘Building a Bridge between Local Communities and Nature Conservation’, will inspire both the rangers personally and their great conservation work.

A huge thanks to Lynnette for contributing!

And you can still secure your personal 6th ERC ranger coin and help rangers at the same time:
