The Memorial Danilo Re is a sports event and the largest gathering for Alpine park rangers and managers, whose day-to-day work is dedicated to conserving and protecting Alpine Biodiversity. Protected areas form teams and compete in four different sports disciplines:

• ski mountaineering
• giant slalom
• target shooting
• cross-country skiing

The “Danilo Re Memorial” is dedicated to a ranger of the province of Cuneo (Piemont, Italy) who died during his service in 1995. For many years, this is the occasion for the agents of the protected areas to meet.

The 30th Memorial Danilo Re will be

• hosted by the Triglav National Park and
• takes place from 22 to 25 January 2026 in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia.
