September was not only filled with preparations and anticipation for the 6th European Ranger Congress in the Romanian Carpathians. There was also a sense of farewell, as some of our board members will not be standing for re-election at the congress.
This newsletter is also focusing on the particularly high number of rangers who have lost their lives in forest fires in Europe this year. Jointly with the Thin Green Line Foundation, we are asking for support for their bereaved families. We are looking to Latin America, where we organised a drone training held by Spanish rangers for rangers from Brazil and neighbouring countries. And we are telling the story to a donation from a Scottish ranger to enable fellow rangers with little means to travel to the congress.
