July is World Ranger Day month! We asked the European ranger community for photos on this year’s theme, ‘Rangers, driving transformative conservation,’ and received impressive examples. They show rangers not only as protectors of nature, but also as drivers of inclusive, community-integrating change, making them the best examples for powering transformative conservation.

As climate change progresses, the risk is growing: We mourn the loss of Albanian ranger Bledar Sahiu, who died on his way fighting one of the world’s ever-increasing forest fires. And we take a look at the French Côte d’Azur, where climate change also poses major challenges for rangers.
